Scott Penrose (born 1969 in Essex) is an English magician and magic consultant and is the son of magician John Penrose. Penrose is the President of The Magic Circle and a Gold Star member of the Inner Magic Circle. He was awarded the title The Magic Circle Stage Magician of the Year in 2000. He also works as a magic consultant and illusion designer. In 2005, he taught Woody Allen magic for his movie ''Scoop''. In 2006 he advised on the Houdini movie ''Death Defying Acts'' (starring Catherine Zeta-Jones and Guy Pearce) and assisted James Freedman during filming of the critically acclaimed ''The Illusionist''. He built illusions for and appeared in the movie ''Magicians''. He also tutored Sir Michael Caine and the young Bill Milner for the 2009 movie ''Is Anybody There?''. Other credits include designing, creating and building magic and illusions for UK TV shows such as QI, Jonathan Creek and Hustle (TV series).〔(IMDB )〕 For live theatre he created special effects for the UK tour of ''Dracula'' (2005). This involved the apparent appearance and disappearance of Dracula as well a simulated beheading and apparent cremation. He also worked on two productions of the pantomome Aladdin in Richmond and Woking making illusions and magic tricks for Abanazar to perform. In 2006, he built and designed illusions for the London West End production of Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens. In 2007 he created and advised on magic effects, illusions and quick change costume techniques for the Cirque du Soleil touring production "Koozå". In 2008 he designed illusions and special effects for the latest Zorro musical with fellow magician Paul Kieve.
